WSi is currently searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) for one of our amazing clients in Lakewood, CO. 

The RN provides on-site nursing and attendant care to adolescents residing in The Center’s Youth Residential Recovery program located in Lakewood, Colorado. The RN will provide direct care, nursing services, and medication administration to adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18.5 participating in substance use disorder treatment.

This job is:

• Full-Time - 40 hours a week
• M-F - either 4 10s or 5 8s 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities but not limited to: 

• Provide direct care, nursing services and medication administration to residents as prescribed by program regulations, and/or individual treatment plan, including collecting medical specimens. 
• Performs patient assessments for new admissions. 
• Administer medications in a safe, error-free manner. Document all medications received and/or refused.
• Provide nursing support, acting as “on-call” RN to the residential unit when necessary. Nurse will use appropriate resources for triaging calls such as; Pediatric Telephone Protocol manual and on-call medical provider when necessary. 
• Prepare discharge summary and instructions, including; medication management, laboratory values and their significance to treatment, follow-up provider appointments, etc.  Communicate the discharge instructions to the parents/guardians and answer any questions as needed.   
• Provide direct care, nursing services and medication administration to clients as prescribed by program regulations, and/or individual treatment plan, including collecting medical specimens.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Experience: 

• The employee must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Colorado or compact RN license.  
• Employees must hold and maintain current BLS certification. 
• Employees must stay up to date on all internal training and licensing requirements at all times. 
• Strong assessment skills in various fields are preferred but not required.
• Critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and excellent documentation skills are a must. 
• Knowledge of ASAM. 
• Experience with EMR - Avatar is preferred. 
• Experience in substance use services
