Why Correctional Pharmacy?

You'll play an active role in patient care by collaborating directly with healthcare providers, managing complex medication therapies, and helping improve outcomes for an underserved population. What You'll Do
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness
- Evaluate medication therapy for drug interactions, adverse reactions, duplicate therapies, and clinical effectiveness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and behavioral health teams to optimize medication regimens
- Provide pharmacotherapy recommendations for acute and chronic disease management
- Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians during medication preparation and dispensing
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations, including controlled substance requirements
- Document clinical interventions and medication therapy management within the electronic health record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary patient care planning

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Active Arizona Pharmacist License in good standing
- One or more years of pharmacist experience preferred
- Hospital, clinical, ambulatory, or correctional pharmacy experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of pharmacotherapy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
