Medical Scheduler/Colorado Only
Job Description
The Medical Scheduler is responsible for answering incoming calls for multiple facilities to provide a variety of services. Utilizing computer information systems, the follow-up scheduler will coordinate the scheduling, pre-registration, and insurance eligibility for physician practice services. Assists callers by explaining insurance eligibility status and plan benefits, assigning appropriate referrals and authorizations based on insurance requirements, and providing all relevant instructions for scheduled appointments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer/triage incoming calls and make outbound calls.
- Schedule appointments as the Medical Scheduler by a physician and/or department requirements
- Reschedule the clinic schedule as requested by the Medical Scheduler supervisor.
- Makes calls out to patients to schedule, fill gaps or reschedule appointments with a sense of urgency
- Ensures the prevention of double-booking procedures by identifying available time increments as defined by the clinical diagnostic area; reschedules and cancels patient appointments as required.
- Prepares and mails patient itineraries or notices, as required
- Pre-registers outpatients for outpatient clinical and diagnostic
- Completes pre-registration and pre-admission questionnaires
- Verifies insurance requirements

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- At least 1 year of experience in hospital admissions/registration or physician’s office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- We perform a background check
