Medical Biller & Coder I Colorado Only
Job Description
In searh of an Orthopedic Biller & Coder for a busy office in Downtown Denver. Come enjoy learning a new specialty in a collaborative work environment. This opportunity requires at least one year of medical billing experience with ortho and physical therapy experience preferred, but not required. Ideal candidates will have a Certificate from a Medical Billing and Coding school, AHIMA or AAPC and have excellent knowledge of the Coding process. Successful candidates will want to learn more, adapt quickly, and work well in a forward-thinking environment. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity. Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Ensure that all coding and billing activities are in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit electronic claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
- Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, and appeals to maximize reimbursement.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with coding and billing changes, attending training and workshops as necessary.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in coding and billing procedures.
Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC)preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical coding and billing.
- Proficiency in using coding manuals and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes and regulations.
- Experience with medical billing software and practice management systems.
Job Requirements
- 1-year experience in Coding/Billing / CPC
- Must have two (2) great references.
- Able to pass a background check
- Certified in coding from AHIMA or AAPC is highly preferred
- Able to work full-time in person
