Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Colorado Department of Corrections
Location: Sterling, CO
Position: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Two shifts available – 5:00 AM - 6:20 PM or 10:00 AM - 11:20 PM
WSi Healthcare is seeking dedicated EMTs to join our team at the Colorado Department of Corrections in Sterling, CO. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to provide essential medical care in a secure facility, ensuring the health and safety of both staff and inmates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical care and basic life support within the correctional facility.
- Assess patient conditions, administer treatment, and determine the need for further intervention.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including injuries, illnesses, and trauma situations.
- Monitor and report on inmate health status and behavior.
- Assist with medication management and passing medications as needed.
- Escort, transport, and accompany inmates to medical appointments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to facility protocols.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Licensing: Current Colorado or National EMT certification
- CPR Certification: Must be through the American Heart Association.
- Legal Requirements: Valid driver’s license and no felony convictions.
- Background Check & Drug Screen: Must be able to pass both through WSi Healthcare Personnel.
- Training: Must successfully complete Colorado DOC Basic Training, including English reading comprehension, competency assessments, and Defensive Tactics.
- Physical Readiness: Must meet the physical requirements for Defensive Tactics training.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of EMT experience (preferred in emergency, correctional, or high-stress environments).
We offer CPR classes if needed!
