Dentist | Colorado Department of Corrections | Canon City, CO

This is an excellent opportunity for a provider looking for a structured, full-time schedule while serving an underserved patient population in a collaborative clinical environment.
Position Highlights
- Tuesday-Friday schedule (7:00 AM-5:00 PM)
- Four-day work week with three-day weekends
- 6-month contract
- Local and travel opportunities available
- Travel pay available for providers commuting more than 200 miles

What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive dental exams and oral health assessments
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of dental conditions
- Complete restorative and surgical procedures, including fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients on oral health and preventative care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- Active Colorado Dental License
- Experience in general dentistry preferred
- Comfortable practicing in a correctional healthcare environment
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and patient care skills
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Providers must reside 200+ miles from the facility to qualify for the travel package
- Must be available to attend a paid four-day Defensive Tactics training prior to starting. Housing and per diem are provided for the duration of the training.
