Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Correctional Healthcare

- $70–$75/hour (based on experience)

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll provide direct patient care in a structured clinical setting within a secure facility. This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll use your full scope of practice.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat acute & chronic conditions
- Conduct sick call and chronic care clinics
- Prescribe medications within established guidelines
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostics
- Perform minor procedures (suturing, wound care, etc.)
- Respond to urgent and emergent situations
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care

Job Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Colorado (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA license required
- Full prescriptive authority with no restrictions
- Background in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
- Ability to work independently and exercise strong clinical judgment
- Comfortable managing acute and chronic conditions across diverse patient populations
- Strong communication and professionalism in a structured, fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in correctional, urgent care, emergency, or high-acuity settings preferred but not required
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Ability to pass a background check & drug screen
- Must complete a 4-day self-defense training course
