Job Description
Nurse Practitioner Position at County Jail
We are currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team at the County Jail. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical services to inmates in custody. Schedule will require you to be on site 2 - 4 hrs a week and telemed/phone follow up 2- 4 hrs a week. Contract is for 8 hrs a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough health assessments and screenings
- Diagnosing and treating common health conditions
- Developing individualized treatment plans and offering healthcare education
- Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
- Maintaining meticulous and up-to-date medical records
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Prior experience in a similar healthcare environment is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven capacity to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work setting
- Demonstrated compassion and a non-judgmental approach to delivering patient care

Job Requirements
We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position with the following requirements:
- Ability to pass a CBI background check
- Passing a drug screen is essential
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in New Mexico
- Full authority to prescribe medication (RX)
