A major university is seeking a clinic-based mental health provider and includes an Instructor or Senior Instructor (open rank) level, non-tenure clinical practice track appointment within the University Nursing Department. Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor (Unlicensed):
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or closely related field.
- Registered with Colorado’s Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) within one month of hire.
Instructor (Licensed):
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or closely related field.
- Current licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar:
- Have current licensure in good standing (any state), or have completed the number of hours mentioned above. Can be working toward CO clinical licenses during the application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have current active CO licensures within 6 months of hire.
Senior Instructor:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or closely related field.
- Currentlicensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar.
- Current licensure in good standing (any state). Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during the application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by the date of hire.
- Demonstrated leadership in the area of practice.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience utilizing bilingual skills (Spanish/English) at a conversation level in a clinical setting.
- Experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting, using brief treatment modalities with an emphasis on time-effective, recovery-oriented, evidence-based treatment.
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, SUD subspecialty certification, and/or Certified Addiction Technician/Specialist certification.
- Experience working with population-based outcomes.
- Experience with care delivery that incorporates a social justice perspective around the intersectionality of racism, classism, LGBTQ issues, and other forms of oppression.
- Experience with prevention and early intervention approaches utilizing trauma-informed care.

- Must be able to pass a full background check, drug screen, TRAILS, CAPS, and fingerprinting.
- Able to have a pre-employment physical
- Must have a driver’s license
- Must be able to handle, use, or be able to have exposure to hazardous material.
- Must have COVID-19 vaccination proof as of 30 days of hire.
