As a Medical Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in obtaining insurance pre-approvals for medical procedures, tests, medications, and other healthcare services. Prior Authorization Specialist Responsibilities include:
- Review and process prior authorization requests
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to gather required information
- Follow up on pending or denied prior authorization requests, providing additional information and appealing denials when necessary
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Prior Authorization Specialist Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of health insurance and prior authorization processes
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and insurance databases
Job Requirements
- Must have 1 (1) year of recent experience as a Prior Authorization Specialist
- Must have two (2) great manager or supervisor references
- Must have EMR experience
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Able to work full-time in person
